A kindly reminder
There is a distant universe — one we knew a long time ago. It is a vivid, dreamlike, cloudy dimension where you have some old memories. You find yourself feeling brave, bold and unstoppable. Yet you don’t have anyone else to help you feel that way.
I went for a walk the other day and bumped into her. She was almost transparent as she walked through me. It wasn’t just the feeling she left in my cells, but the desperate urge to set her aside and bathe in her energy. I swear I wasn’t drunk.
This creature that barely exists still gets to visit me. Even though I want to grab her and squeeze her so tightly that she can never leave, she vanishes again when all these bloody adult overanalyzers break in.
Her colours remind me of that young, desperate girl – not the one who was always afraid and anxious about everything in life. I mean the one in bright pink leggings, the one with smells of the ocean. The one who holds the other’s hand and says, ‘Hey, let’s go.’
We can do this.
We will do this.
And we will do much more.
Amazing. Incredible. And impossible things.
